China glass walkway &#039cracks&#039 when site visitors stroll on it

HEBEI, China: A Chinese tour guide falls to his knees as as a glass walkway “cracks” less than him in online video that has gone viral in excess of the weekend, but this is no accident.

This cliff-hugging walkway in East Taihang, Hebei was designed with particular consequences on the past several glass panels, that make digital cracks show up with every single action the visitor takes. 

In the 10-second online video, posted on social media and Chinese information internet sites, the guy shouts: “I am afraid to death!”


The gag came amid reports of glass walkways and bridges, several of which ended up designed in China, cracking for actual. A pane of glass cracked on the walkway at Yuntai Mountain just a month following it opened, it was described in Oct 2015.

East Taihang Scenic District authorities confident site visitors that this was a planned gimmick employing “entire body weight-sensing” glass. 

It shared a copy of the online video on its Weibo account on Sunday (Oct 8).

The authorities controlling the mountain tourist attraction issued an “apology” on Weibo on Sep 28 that read much more like a tongue-in-cheek advertising and marketing spiel.

It apologised for the “ridiculously substantial” walkway which is designed at a peak of 1,180m on soaring cliffs as properly as for scaring site visitors.

“Anywhere you stroll, the glass will break, and it comes with a ‘kacha’ cracking seem,” the Weibo put up in Chinese read. “The effect is so lifetime-like, you will not be able to explain to if it really is the glass or your heart breaking.”
